It was great experience in event planning to be student coordinator for these awards. I was essentially assisting Priya (Volunteers manager), Arran (Volunteers intern) and James (VP Community Welfare) in the planning, organisation, prep and running of the dinner and my main duties included filming, editing, and exhibiting the compilation videos, creating the table plan, offering input and opinions, and finally helping to run the night when it arrived.
This night I received a Gold Award for my 179 registered volunteering hours in the students union (which does not include ANY dance club volunteering hours OR my fundraising for Childreach International) and was so blessed to be nominated for and then the WINNER of Brunel Volunteer of the Year 2013. It was such a lovely moment for a years worth of efforts to be noted and appreciated. Truly blessed and thankful for that moment!
